The Golden Hour

The first hour of a medical emergency is called the Golden Hour.  For the best recovery from the onset of a medical condition or trauma, treatment within the first 60 minutes is paramount.

Since we do not have a hospital in Pike County, Pennsylvania, people needing emergency care usually travel to one of the four hospitals surrounding our community.  Because of the distance involved, transport times can range from 10 to 45 minutes or more to get to a hospital once the patient is loaded into an ambulance.

If a patient's condition is life threatening, PC-ALS's paramedics is be the eyes, ears and hands of the emergency room doctors and can administer life saving medicines under doctors orders to stabilize the patient and help the patient recover from their illness.

You can help PC-ALS to get up and running.  Check out our website to see how!
