 Some of the life threatening situations where PC-ALS helps improve the patients chance for recovery are:

Difficulty Breathing
Chest Pain
Seizures
Stroke
Major Trauma

In the case of a heart attack, 1% of the heart muscle is lost per "pre-treatment" minute. 

If you have any type of emergency which requires Advanced Life Support, - an asthma or heart attack for instance - Paramedics (an Advanced Life Support Unit) are called to render immediate emergency treatment usually along with your local EMS corp.
